HEIDI SEPPÄLÄ

Heidi Seppälä (b.1987) is a choreographer, dance teacher and dancer born in Finland and Living in Vienna. She started her art studies in Finland with photography and after proceeded to full-time dance studies first in Finland, but soon carried on to do a BA in dance teaching and choreography in Tartu University, Estonia, and another BA (hons) dance theatre in Laban, London. Heidi has a history of studying visual arts, writing and costume design, which all informs her artistic work. After her graduation from Laban Heidi was working as as a freelance choreographer and dance teacher in London and her most recent choreographic piece was a commission for London choreography event “Women of Mass destruction” in RichMix. She has taught contemporary dance in Royal Academy of Dance’s Step Into Dance program and her work was performed in Sadler’s Well’s STEP LIVE 2014. Recently a dancer and performer Heidi worked with LCP Dance Company, touring a performance AM?I, Figmentations Art Collective touring a successful theatre performance Teatime Wonder Games around London and does solo work in different projects.

ANDI PILS

Andreas Pils (b.1977) is a co-founder of Primitive Studios in Vienna. After completing training as a precision engineer he worked 2 years as a design engineer at Philipps video. From 1999 he decided to dedicate fully to music and toured internationally as a DJ and live musician. He is a co-founder of the label Masterplan Records, and the DJ – collective tour Idyl. In 2000 he was invited to Redbullmusicacademy as one of 60 among 4000 applicants.
In 2004 his studio Primitive Studios in Vienna was put into operation. At the same time he also started to work as location sound recordist.
In 2010, he began to deal with video and since has been working in several short- and full length films as a sound designer and mixer. In 2013 he won the Diagonal best sound design for feature film “Soldier Jeanette”

NOMADIC VILLAGE RESIDENCY

Since 2009 the Nomadic Village has been a 2 weeks annual settlement of artists on the road. In 2015 it will become a swarm of people on the move for 4 months, travelling across several European countries and stopping along the way to establish 3 different Villages. Artists on the road are invited to propose projects for the entire trip, or parts of it. They will determine their own travelling schedules and use GPS tracking devices to create spontaneous meetings on the road. The Villages are conceived as meeting points as well as production and presentation opportunities.For 2015, all the artists in charge of projects will be equipped with mobile Internet, and will be asked to update their whereabouts daily. Participants will have to mark the good spots to stay, document them and exchange with the other artists on the road. These exchanges will create a map that will expand over the years and will be provided to the Nomadic Village participants of future editions.
The Nomadic Village is run by Captain Klaus (lead artist and founder) and Tinski(directing artist) from On The Road Productions (ORP), Austria.
