Cerkno is a quiet small village in the mountains of Slovenia and during our rehearsal nights a sweet silence surrounded us, giving an impression of a nice, quiet performance space for the first showing. How wrong we were! On our premier night both the pensioners club behind the church and the hotel in front of the church decided to throw a schlager party, creating a noisy mixture of overlapping entertainment.
Our performance was scheduled for 10pm, and 20 seconds after we started, the hotel started aswell. We finished the piece but Andi´s wonderful tracks were overshadowed by schlager hitsongs from the 80´s. We decided to do another run around midnight, when the pensioners would be asleep. We were wrong again. After two hours of waiting in the caravan with some tea and coctails to keep us warm we were about to fall asleep but the pensioners were still going strong with their parties on both sides of the village.
We filmed the piece a few more times but performing that night was impossible.
